Christmas in July

It was the last few days of school and I was telling my son, “Christmas is just around the corner!”  Naturally, he thought I was crazy and reminded me that Christmas is months away. That’s when I reminded him that I’m in retail. If I’m not thinking about Christmas now, then it’s too late. As much as we love Christmas, it definitely creeps up on us quickly. So that’s why we are bringing you Christmas a little early this year.

We are excited to partner with AR Workshop to bring you a long weekend of Christmas in July!  From July 20 to 25, AR Workshop will be hosting Holiday DIY Workshops and we will be featuring some of our favorite Christmas items in the store.  Things like the Roland Pine Candle, with its beautiful notes of Siberian Fir, Cilantro and Citrus, and gorgeous hand-painted (from the inside out!) keepsake ornaments from artist Marsha York, that uplift your spirit while reminding you of Christmases past.

We will also be taking pre-orders of your next family heirloom.  Catstudio’s hand embroidered pillows capture the beloved joy of the classic poem, “Twas the Night Before Christmas,” the beauty and grace of The Nutcracker, and the fun and frivolity of the North Pole.  Avoid the holiday rush and order yours this July!

AR Workshop will offer several projects from which you can choose.  Make your own Advent calendar, holiday signs to liven up your walls, festive throw pillows, and my favorite, the Christmas cookie tray.  If that’s not enough holiday cheer, then how about a $10 coupon for Red Barn Mercantile for everyone who makes a project?  Sign up here to register for your spot!

Finally, to top it all off, enter to win one of several prizes including a holiday-themed gift basket from us and a party package from AR Workshop.

Happy Holidays and let the gift giving begin!

  • The latest from Amy
Owner Amy Rutherford started Red Barn because she wanted to deliver a service — to provide both old and new in one place. No longer will busy shoppers be limited to reproductions or forced to shop multiple flea markets for the look or gifts they want. The trick in blending old and new, vintage and modern, classic and quirky, is balance. And Amy’s knack for mixing rustic antiques with urban chic has created a look that is both fresh and familiar.

Red Barn Mercantile opened its doors in September 2007 with a single vision in mind: providing old and new to offer our customers signature whole-room designs at great prices.

We’re more than a furniture boutique and provide more personalized service than a big box retailer. We work hard to bring you the highest quality furniture and gifts, the most unique conversation starters, wall hangings and accent pieces, whether they come from off-the-beaten-track flea markets, or the latest designers.
