I actually have to give my daughter Mackey credit for finding one of my favorite chairs this year. Mackey is moving to a new apartment in the West Village in Manhattan June 1st. She is beyond excited to move out of her tiny apartment to a not-so-tiny apartment — she will have room to add two more chairs! And since her love of interior design could possibly match mine, she has spent an inordinate amount of time looking for occasional chairs to go with her sofa.
I was awed by what she found and have crowned this chair my favorite of the year. With its streamlined style and touch of tradition, it is a perfect chair to update any room, whether used as an accent occasional chair or as the captain chairs at a dining room table. And of course you can buy this through Coco Blanca.
Most dining room chairs come in a fabric that is stain resistant. But if you want to choose your own fabric, I would recommend using Perennials fabrics. It is a high-performance textile that is fade resistant, mildew and mold resistant, and easily maintained. It is 100 percent solution-dyed acrylic fiber. In other words, you can spill on it and it cleans up much better than natural fabrics. It is my go to fabric for any area that will be used for dining or is high traffic. If you have kids or dog, it is a must!
While the above is my favorite chair, there are so many others that I love, which I have featured below. Here are my runner-up dining room chair picks for 2016!
And just in case you have never met my cute daughter, to whom I give credit…
