Cold Shoulder + Off-the-Shoulder Tops We Love (Plus Covered-Shoulder Looks Still Totally On-Trend)

It’s here to stay…at least for another year!  Autumn/Winter 17 Collections are showing the cold shoulder and off-the-shoulder everywhere, covering all styles from tops, dresses, and sweaters.

While buying, we keep *you* in mind. Our customer is shopping for more of the feminine and classic pieces mixed with current trends, like a simple black top with a tie sleeve or this Victorian blouse from Alice & Olivia above.

The pro’s to the cold shoulder trend…

  • You can wear a bra!
  • Show a little skin, but still cover your insecurities.
  • Wear a classic piece with a current and edgier spin.

The sister trend, off-the-shoulder, is also very prominent in collections throughout the spring and can be exciting for someone who isn’t afraid to wear a strapless bra (or doesn’t need to wear one!).

And, knowing these trends aren’t for everyone, we brought in some alternative “trendy” options, like the choker top, which I personally love, and own, AND am wearing as I write this piece…

…or this sweater with a keyhole back, which allows for a different approach for showing some skin (or a cami).

Maybe showing skin isn’t your thing — you could try our tie dye top with a fun sleeve detail!

I’ll leave you with one last thought. For most of our customers, the key ingredient to a successful outfit is buying for your body and not for “what’s hot, now.” So don’t be afraid to say no! (Or yes!)
