The Patterson Group has had an awesome summer so far. It has been busier than in years past—but in real estate, that’s not a good but a GREAT thing!
First, we, of course, went all out for the 4th of July, spending time on the Potomac and enjoying fantastic food and drinks with family and friends. We just so happen (read: this is not a coincidence) to be in Old Town, Alexandria, a fun and rather appropriate place to salute America and its history. Since then, the weather has been h-o-t, but our clients and their fabulous homes, as well as a wonderful thing called air conditioning, have made it totally bearable.
Second, we are thrilled to announce that we received some exciting recognition for all of our hard work in 2015: Phyllis Patterson, my mother and the leader of The Patterson Real Estate Group, was named the #178 real estate agent in the country—out of 2.5 million agents—by REAL Trends and The Wall Street Journal, after The Patterson Group achieved more than $81 million in sales last year. The Patterson Group also made it onto Washingtonian magazine’s platinum list of the Top-Producing agents in the region, which is featured in the magazine’s July edition. We are ecstatic and honored to represent Alexandria on these lists.
I grew up watching my mom work tirelessly for her clients while also raising a family of, shall we say, demanding children (she was really lucky to have me because my three siblings were a piece of work!) and I am so proud of what she has accomplished.
She leads a team of agents, all of whom have learned from her and thereby become powerhouse agents in their own right, and she is is a resource for her team, her clients, her children, and other local agents. Even when she has a lot going on (also known as all the time), she is kind, calm, respectful, and maintains a fabulous sense of humor. I am extremely proud of her and lucky to work with her and learn from her every day.
We have a lot of work to do in the weeks and months to come, but we are happy to take moments to relax and toast our hard work and what we have to show for it. We relax Alexandria-style, obviously, with cook-outs, wine, boat rides and everything that Old Town has to offer. We couldn’t think of a better place to live and work, and that has so much to do with the wonderful people we call clients and friends!
We also are lucky to have things to look forward to, including vacations and upcoming events. Trips to St. Thomas, Cape Cod, Hawaii, Bald Head Island in North Carolina, and Brigantine, New Jersey have made or will surely make for great summer fun and memories.
Plus, the 2016 40 Under 40 celebration, at which I am happy and humbled to be honored by the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, is happening in just two days! There will be live music, specialty cocktails from Mason Social, celebratory cigars, and a Winner’s Showcase, then an after party at Mason Social!
So looking forward to what’s to come!
