The 5 Shoe Trends You'll See This Spring, Plus a Sneak Peek at Styles Coming to The Shoe Hive

I must admit, I was a little nervous to send out our look book for spring. It seemed like maybe I was playing poker and showing all my cards before we started to play the hand. The reveal of  our spring lineup is always high stakes and even a little intimidating: I hope everyone likes what they see enough to come in and shop.As we prepare the book each year, I also confront an operational problem: no matter how hard we try to get all the photos, we will never be able to get all the images and many of those in the book are not exactly a match to the merchandise on its way to our store. Some items are shown in the stock photography in the wrong color or the wrong heel height.Still, we decided we should go ahead and do our best to show folks what The Shoe Hive will have in store for Spring 2019. Of course we will have lots of bags, jewelry, and other great accessories, too, but here is a sneak peek of what is coming this spring and what we’ve noticed for spring trends.

Five Spring Shoe Trends

Whether it is a flat or a wedge, espadrille bottoms are huge this season. Some of my favorites are the Stuart Weitzman wedges and the flat d’Orsay by one of our newest brands, Manebi. You want to make sure you check out this line offering a new perspective on a timeless classic. More on them to come.Pointy-toe pumps. We are always getting requests for work heels. Spring 2019 is the season to stock up. In a variety of colors, fabrics, and heel heights and styles, we have lots of options. There are low slides, high slides, wedge slides, and all kinds of slides in between. This trend is obviously not going anywhere and we are still expanding our selection. I still can’t get behind the “dad sneaker” trend, but Superga now has a great running shoe-inspired look that is as close to the trend that I can support. We have woven leather options at every price point. There are heels from Marion Parke and Ulla Johnson and flats and sandals from Sam Edelman.
