What else is there to do on New Year’s Eve but enjoy some bubbly and wear glitter? The answer is: not much. Let’s chat glitz and glamour to ring in the New Year!

Step One: Apply a piece of clear tape under each eye, winging out at an angle that follows your lower lash line. This will give you have a clean, intentional glitter look, rather than looking like the glitter fairy just spilled her purse all over your face. Once your tape is in place, blend tinted eye base from lashes to brow.

Step Two: In the dish that comes with Stila Magnificent Metals Eye Shadow, mix a little of the included clear primer with this shadow. Keep in mind that the more liquid you add, the more sheer the look will be, so plan your glitz level accordingly.

Step Three: Once that has dried completely (give it a good few minutes), apply a substantial line of black liquid eyeliner, like Jouer Kitten Liner Pen. Make the line thick enough to hold up to a heavy glitter look, but not so thick that it covers all the beautiful sparkle you just made.

Step Four: Remove the tape. (See that nice, clean line? Aren’t you glad you taped your face now?) Apply a few coats of Stila Huge Extreme Mascara for intense length, volume, and lift.

Step Five: Prime your face with a basic primer, then use a beautyblender to stipple a long-wear foundation all over. Conceal any spots, and under your eyes. Use Smashbox Always Sharp Eyeliner in “Raven” on your lower waterline, then draw a thin line of glitter eye liner into your lower lashes, and top with one coat of mascara. I love Rouge Bunny Rouge Devotion Ink’s colors as a little under-eye pop. If you want, use a small shadow brush to diffuse the line, or smudge a little darker shadow into the glitter underneath.

Step Six: Brush on a soft pinky blush, and sweep bronzer very lightly across the top of your forehead and over your cheekbones. Fill your brows, if necessary. I recommend a sheer, shimmery lip gloss, so your lips aren’t competing for attention with your glittery eyes, but follow the look that makes you happiest.

Step Seven: Party. Drink champagne, and enjoy the New Year’s Eve celebrations. (But never drink and drive, friends. That’s what Uber is for.)

Happiest of New Years to you all!
