Big News for Textile Lovers
Have we got some good news for you! Cisco Brothers just announced that they are offering COM in their Essentials Collection. What does that mean and what in the blue blazes is COM? What that means is your choice for upholstery fabric has just grown to something close to infinity. COM stands for “Customer’s Own Material.” Cisco Brothers offers a slew of gorgeous fabrics, but sometimes they don’t have what you want – for instance, faux teal snakeskin for a banquette (which, btw, turned out beyond cool!). If what you’re looking for doesn’t exist in their catalog of fabrics, then you can provide them with your own fabric from any source under the sun (as long as it’s upholstery grade, of course).Last year, I introduced the Essentials Collection to you right here on Stylebook. It is a collection of some of Cisco’s best-selling frames distilled down to a small selection of their fabrics, leg finishes, and seat fills. This collection makes it easy to choose – and less expensive to create – because the choices are few. With this announcement, they have broadened this small collection’s potential by allowing you to provide your own fabric from sources like the design center, Calico Corners, or Red Barn Mercantile. At Red Barn we have sourced some of our favorite independent designers just for you.[divider height="30" style="default" line="default" themecolor="0"]

Walter G
Another favorite is Walter G, an Australian company that works with textile printers in India to hand block all their fabrics. You can see a lovely pictorial explanation of the printing process here. We love all the imperfections in their fabrics. You know that they are truly one-of-a-kind and uniquely yours. How special is that? Here are a few of our favorites from them…[nemus_slider id="47129"][divider height="30" style="default" line="default" themecolor="0"]
Peter Dunham
Peter Dunham is another masterful textile designer. His textiles are inspired by his European upbringing and his travels through India, Turkey, and the Mediterranean, then infused with a hint of California casual. We love these fabrics for their versatility. They work equally well in traditional, bohemian, coastal, or country settings. Here are a few of our favorite indoor fabrics, which also have outdoor counterparts…[nemus_slider id="47137"][divider height="30" style="default" line="default" themecolor="0"]
We also have fabrics from Arlington’s own Mira Jean Designs, and Savannah, Georgia by way of Texas designers Hable Construction available to purchase by the yard to cover your new sofa, sectional, chair, or ottoman. Hurry in today, because this is the last weekend to take advantage of our semi-annual upholstery sale. After Sunday, all sofas will only be 20 percent off the MSRP. We just got in a whole new collection of sofas and chairs including the Rebecca and Louis sofas from the Essentials Collection. I think you’re going to love them and love all the creative ways you can make your space special.
