March was a whirlwind of excitement celebrating the women in our community who inspire us, and we are so thankful to those who joined us for our speaker series and makers pop-ups. Now, with April showers and spring flowers pouring in, the excitement continues as we celebrate Boxwood’s third anniversary!

Throughout March, it was a pleasure to dedicate the month to female makers and host nights of inspiration and empowerment with entrepreneurs and speakers who have truly made a difference in our community. We couldn’t believe the outpouring of love and support for our Empowering Local Powerful Women speaker series hosted at Boxwood. We are so grateful to our speakers who shared their stories and our friends, families, customers, and neighbors who attended and joined in on the discussions. Thank you to our speakers Lea Pickett, Shamena Nurse-Kingsley, Martha Carucci, Micky Sauls, Jean Molesworth Kee, Sue Henry, Campbell Minster, Katherine Studley, Ali Hellmuth, and Samantha Kasten. I also want to thank Kellie Gunderman of VIP Alexandria Magazine for moderating our Into The Woods: Women Who Inspire Boxwood’s Design & Art panel. Thank you to all the Alexandria makers whose beautiful products we were so proud to share in-store with our customers throughout the month. Last but not least, I want to thank Brittany Wheeler of Beam of Light Consulting, the mastermind and vision behind this event, for creating a space for empowering our local women. We are so lucky to have you as part of our Boxwood family!

After an exciting March, we are thrilled the party doesn’t stop there! Our celebrations continue into April as we celebrate Boxwood’s third birthday on April 12! Can you believe we opened on South Royal Street just three short years ago? It has been an incredible three years, and we are ready to celebrate with our favorite people... you!

We will host tastings from Umbrella Dry Drinks, feature an Annie Sloan Chalk Paint spring and Easter craft, and a grab-and-go flower market!
