Can I Wear Self-Tanner in Fall and Winter?
You love your self-tanner and you think you look better with a tan than without. You’ve gloriously applied it all summer long. With fall approaching, can you still wear it? This is a question we get asked all the time: doesn’t it look a bit too fake to be tan in the fall and winter? The answer as you may have guessed, is yes and no, which is often my answer because beauty is so personal and different for everyone. In this case I say yes because unless you’ve been to the Bahamas or some tropical locale in November, a deep, dark tan reads fake. It’s also likely to garner a bunch of questions about your “vacation.” Awkward. However, a golden glow can just look radiant. I myself am very pale, so a light self-tan will just give me a nice glow. If I am tanning at a level 3 on a scale of 1 to 5 in the summer, then dropping to a self-tan level 1 in the winter will still provide me some color, without eliciting any raised eyebrows. So, dropping two shades from your current summer color should work beautifully.Tan Towels or Glow Pads are an easy way to get a little color without too much depth. Another way to achieve a natural tone is a gradual tan serum or lotion. I have been using a gradual tan serum, which gives me just a hint of color in my face. I also love a face cream that intuitively changes your coloring to your color, just enhanced a shade. We have a line of products coming to the store soon that do all these things and more beautifully. More on that line shortly. When you look good, you feel good. So, if your self-tanner makes you look good, don’t shelve it this fall…just change the way you’re using it.
