Coloring Our Homes in 2020
In case you missed it, Pantone – the standard bearer for color in design and fashion around the world – announced its color of the year back in early December. They named Classic Blue stating that, “instilling calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a stable foundation as we cross the threshold into a new era.”Yes, color can do all of that and more. Especially in our homes. Pantone is predicting that interior design trends for 2020 will, “reinforce the notion that muted and vibrant tones can co-exist.” So basically, no more grey-ja-vu. At Boxwood, we strive to bring colorful, modern takes on traditional styles. And that is clear in our line of furniture paint by Annie Sloan®. If you’ve never used it before, Annie Sloan® Chalk Paint® can breathe new life into old furniture without sanding or priming. And it’s not just for the shabby chic or farmhouse look. I personally love these vibrant, unique tables and mid-century modern inspired pieces. Annie Sloan transformed the world of furniture paint by inventing Chalk Paint® in 1990. She’s all about inspiring home painters to be creative and adventurous with her paints and colors. As one of 1,700+ independent stockists in 55 countries around the world, Boxwood is proud to be the only retailer in our area. So with New Year resolutions and never-ending snow days, January is the perfect month to tackle that home improvement project. And if you have a vintage end table or desk in solid wood, why not try to paint it? Just think what it could look like in Annie’s Napoleonic blue – a true classic! Want to find out more?
