Combat Boots at Any Age

Yes, you read that right. Combat boots are here to stay and I must say, I love them. They are rugged for nasty weather, comfortable for everyday wear, lend a don’t-mess-with-me vibe should you need it (admit it, we all have those days), and dare I say it… combat boots are now a classic staple for every closet.Think about it - combat boots have graced the feet of our military heroes for a century. They then emerged on the feet of Nirvana and Pearl Jam and their grunge rock followers. Finally, the coveted fashion houses followed suit and bam - welcome to the mainstream.Think you can’t wear them? Guess again. They are soooo versatile and perfect for every age!

Teens, 20’s, and 30’s

525 Sweater, $95; Just Black Denim, $88; Boots, $218

Our lovely model Annie sports cropped denim, which showcases the combat boots as a terrific accessory for a modern-day ensemble. If you have not hit the cropped denim trend, roll the hem of your jeans to just above the boot, and voila! You have a completely different look.

Wooden Ships Sweater, $138; Just Black Denim Skirt, $68

A sweet sweater sporting the word “Love” is a wonderful juxtaposition for a tough and rugged boot. It encompasses the idea of leather and lace, hot and sweet, yin and yang. And pairing the boots with a fringy denim skirt adds a bit more edge without going over the top.

Dress, $128

Yes, you can play dress-up with combat boots! Perfectly youthful and unexpected.

40’s

Brave and True Top, $89

Leggings and combat boots – a classic! Athletic or fancy kicks are nice, but athleisure wear begs the addition of combat boots.

50’s plus

212 Goods Blazer, $440; DL Denim, $189

Kick it up a notch and go sophisticated. A beautiful blazer is an elegant choice for any outfit sporting combat boots. A straight-legged pant or baby boot pairs well. If you want a dressed-up look, add a wide-legged pant over the boots - chic choices are endless.

Truly many of the above styles can be worn by many different ages. My advice? Go with confidence!
