Community, Conversation & Local Experts: On Creating an Inspired Home
Last week we welcomed our community to Boxwood after hours for a special evening with local interior designers and artists centered on the topic: creating a personal and inspired space at home.
As part of Boxwood’s “September with Tulusa” month of workshops and events, this well-rounded group of creatives brought their unique perspectives on the vibrancy of the art world in home design. Our local experts included realtor Britt Patterson of The Patterson Group, TTR Sotheby’s International Realty (as moderator), three talented local designers: Lindsay Bordeaux of Shotgun Double Interior Design, Christopher Patrick of Christopher Patrick Interiors, Jean Molesworth Kee, architectural color consultant of The Painted Room, and creative local artists Sue Henry and Judy Heiser.
The conversation flowed and ideas sparked as our panelists shared their insights on function, beauty, and balance when designing a space. There was agreement across the board (chairs) on the benefits of incorporating natural elements such as light to create a sense of serenity and connection with nature. The designers shared personalized tips and solutions, leaving everyone inspired and motivated to start their own design projects – as soon as they got home!
We extend our gratitude to this amazing group for bringing this event to life, and a special thanks to Sam Kasten of Umbrella Dry Drinks for providing delightful refreshments.
The “Creating an Inspired Home” conversation was a testament to the magic that happens when you pair the power of creativity with community. It also served as a reminder that our living spaces are an expressive canvas to display our dreams, passions, and personalities. We hope this ignites new ideas for future community events for us to host. Next time you visit Boxwood, let us know topics of particular interest and we look forward to welcoming you after hours for another inspired conversation soon!
