Courtyard of Creators: Hatch Skills

I am so excited about our next Courtyard of Creators: Hatch Skills. I had come across her work and been impressed before we even had this concept in place. I had seen Maritza’s handiwork on Instagram and was instantly taken. The craftsmanship, the vibrant colors, and the usefulness of everything she makes surely catches your eye! There are things we use in our daily life that are overly ordinary. I now realize, “why do I not have something beautiful for this instead of some unremarkable off the shelf version.” During COVID, this would be a wine opener. Why was I using a plastic version when I can have a colorful handcrafted one? It doesn’t stop at corkscrews, she has bottle openers, razors, keychains, ice cream and coffee scoops, and the list goes on. If you want to get holiday shopping done early, these are the perfect items. She also does gift boxes, which are great for corporate gifting.Maritza started her company in 2012 and has a Fine Arts and Art History degree from Amherst and a master’s degree from Bryn Mawr College. She started her company to pass along her joy of creating beautiful things and teaching new skills. She offers private classes and you can view all the options on her website. Her paper folding classes for kids and Danish Paper Crafts are on my list when things get back to normal. What a great idea for a birthday party - for adults or kids!I hope you will stop by this Friday, October 9 - Sunday, October 11, and meet Maritza and check out her amazing work.
