Cream Shadows

During warm weather months, I find myself reaching for cream makeup in favor of powders. Don’t get me wrong, I adore my custom Surratt eyeshadow compact and Laura Mercier Setting Powder, but for now, they’ll be tucked away safely in my vanity drawer.

If you haven’t used cream eyeshadows before, I highly recommend it! Cream shadows blend together seamlessly, and even just using one shade swept across the eyelid does wonders for making the eyes pop. I’m going to share with you the shades I’ve been keeping in heavy rotation!

RMS Eye Polish in shades “Lunar” and “Myth”

When using this color combo, I like to put Myth (pale browny taupe) in the crease and Lunar (champagne pearl) on the lid and in the inner corner of my eyes. The radiant finish of these shadows really brightens up my eyes, and it takes literally 2 minutes (if that) to apply!

Pro tip: These cream shadows wear best with a dab of eyelid primer first to prevent creasing.

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Color in shades Nude Pink, Rose Gold, and Caramel

I had a really hard time choosing just a few Caviar Sticks for this article because there are so many great shades, but these 3 are shades I have re-purchased time and time again. Just a swipe of the stick and a few pats with your finger, and voila! When I want to kick it up a notch, I use a matte shade (such as caramel) in the crease and a shimmer shade on the lid.

Pro tip: These shadows apply perfectly with your fingertip, but when using multiple shades, it’ll be helpful to have a blending brush on hand.

Jillian Dempsey Lid Tint in shade “Dew”

I’ll admit when I first saw this lid tint, I was confused. Why make an eyeshadow with no color? It wasn’t until I tried it on myself that I had that “aha” moment. Dew gives the prettiest glossy look to the lid and pairs perfectly with just a few swipes of mascara and a bold lip color. The dewy, hydrated look is always on trend!

Pro tip: Dew can be used on top of other shadows to give them a glossy finish!

If you’ve enjoyed reading about my favorites, I hope that you’ll come by and try them for yourself! At Bellacara, we are utilizing testers and cleaning them before and after every use with 99 percent Isopropyl Alcohol. We put in every effort to make sure you can have fun trying new things while also being safe!
