Curio By Fifth & Main and Sophie Blake NY are coming to Old Town Alexandria. The two brands are coming together to create "Sophie Blake x Curio by Fifth & Main,” a lifestyle boutique at The Seedling Collective (The Pink Door, 121 South Royal Street, Alexandria, 22314) starting October 1 and going through November 30, 2021. Customers can shop for little luxuries and everyday delights, including unique gifts, chic jewelry, wall coverings, sustainable home decor, ethically sourced beauty products, and accessories. 

Curio by Fifth & Main makes custom, non-toxic, textured peel + stick wall coverings and curates little luxury goods for home, body, and planet. Sophie Blake NY is an upscale contemporary label inspired by Modern design and Art Deco. Jewelry is at the core of the brand: offering chic, versatile, and smart jewelry alongside unique and special pieces in apparel, beauty, and accessories. The founders of the two brands, Heather Shaw Menis and Sophie Blake, have been friends and collaborators for over seven years and served together on the board of Fashion Group International of Greater Washington, D.C.

Sophie had an early interest in art and design taking to her many places around the world. Later on, her keen eye for classic architectural structures and Art Deco heavily influenced her jewelry design, which began at a Manhattan studio. Sophie’s passion for jewelry design led her to launch her first collection with New York’s Henri Bendel. Since then, Sophie has opened her first retail location in Mosaic District, Virginia. You can find the full collection alongside curated clothing and beauty merchandise by local women-owned brands from D.C., LA, New York, and Europe.

Heather created the idea for Curio by Fifth & Main after she worked as a marketing executive for a luxury retailer. It sparked her passion for supporting the little guys, the makers, shops, and service providers that are the heartbeat of communities. Since 2014, Fifth & Main PR has worked with many creatives whose offerings are far superior to mass-marketed alternatives.
