Empowered To Heal Without Drugs

Therapeutic exercise empowers people to heal themselves without surgery, without modifications, and without drugs. I will repeat that last part... without drugs. The opioid problem in the U.S. is no longer a secret. At a recent physical therapy summit, I was shocked and astounded to hear that if physicians don’t prescribe physical therapy, they either A) prescribe nothing or B) prescribe opioids. That is scary. I am here to shout from the Alexandria rooftops: Exercise will heal you! You don’t need to rely on pain meds!

Part of my mission in life is to preach, preach, preach the benefits of not only skilled physical therapy but also exercise in general. This mission helped fuel the creation of Mind the Mat. Sara and I purposely designed our schedule to fit everyone’s needs no matter what walk of life or what physical capability. We are especially proud of our Therapeutic Program - a program designed to empower people to help themselves with guided, prescribed exercises. Therapeutic exercises target the cause and the source, as opposed to covering it up the pain-med way.

We are excited to announce the resurrection of our in-person Therapeutic Pilates series. This class is always taught by a therapist of some sort: PT, Chiropractor, and now a Speech Therapist, so the skilled cues will be elevated!
