Football Fits: Favorites
As I sit here drinking my coffee, the Monday morning after the AFC Championship Game, it is with tears in my eyes that I write my last Football Fits post. I thought I would be headed to Old Town to put Bengals shirts on all the mannequins in our stores once again for Super Bowl week, but it was not to be. As we all know, the Chiefs clearly paid off the officials and Cincinnati lost in a close game. Now it is time to get behind the Eagles this Sunday and cheer for Rihanna as she makes her return to the stage.
This has been such a fun series to photograph and write about. It has also made me realize that I might need to up my fashion game. The men of the NFL are really inspiring me to get dressed.
For the Super Bowl post, I decided to pick my favorite looks of the season—the best of the best, in my opinion. Of course, most are Bengals. Not surprising. And, a lot of Dak Prescott, another one of my favorite dressers.
First, we have Megan in a classic navy suit. Sometimes there is really nothing better than a great tailored suit. Sam “Hubba Hubba” Hubbard pulls it off with perfection.
Then, we have the long jacket. Once again, Joe and Dak in the car coat. I love a car coat and for our Alexandria climate I think it is a great item to have in your wardrobe. We can have mild winters, or at least parts of our winters are mild, followed by a chilly spring. A car coat can be worn as a coat or like a blazer. The two we have in from Joseph and Smythe add a little color but are still versatile.
Next up, a cardigan. Once again, it’s the perfect layering piece that can take you through different seasons. Our latest delivery from Allude is full of bright color, which is another football fits trend.
Then, last but not least, we have Ali in one of my all-time favorite looks from one of my favorite players, despite the fact that he is a Cleveland Brown. He might be the best dressed of any player, and if you follow him on Instagram at @awalk he is a very inspiring person as well. He is all about fitness, fashion, and faith.
I hope everyone has enjoyed our series, and I hope you are ready to make some seven-layer dip, maybe order some wings and pizza, and watch the big game. I will be cheering for the Eagles and even if you don’t care about the game the halftime show will certainly be epic.
