Gigi New York was one of the first trunk shows we hosted after we moved The Shoe Hive to our current, bigger space at 127 South Fairfax Street. Since the beginning, this partnership has become a customer favorite and I happen to love it, too.First off, Gigi New York is an amazing company that makes leather handbags and accessories right in New York – unlike the import competition. Gigi started in 2011 but parent company Graphic Image, which many folks know for its beautiful date books and leather accessories, was started in 1967. A family-owned business, you can walk through their factory and see a bag being made from start to finish. They also make products for some little known companies like Tiffany New York and Harrods of London, just to name drop a few amazing retailers.Part of the reason we love this company is that our Gigi New York representative, Betsey, comes and sets up shop in our store for two days (Friday, November 2 and Saturday, November 3) with her embossing machine. She can personalize many of the smaller leather products right at our store during the trunk show.She also brings with her an amazing selection that is only with us for one weekend. She is even is bringing some pieces from Graphic Image for the first time.
