There are two big sales in Alexandria every year, and this coming weekend is one of them. The annual Alexandria Sidewalk Sale is Saturday, August 12 (but our three shops will be extending the sale!). What started over a decade ago as a few stores putting out tables and marking down prices has turned into a huge city-wide sale. Thanks to Visit Alexandria, our local tourism bureau, the town has come together to make this one of the most exciting shopping events of the year. 

Tables line the sidewalks, and the deals often continue inside too. With any luck, I’ll be at The Hive, working the sale in air-conditioning. All jokes aside, we still have hundreds of items at each store, including The Shoe Hive and Yellow Jacket. Most markdowns will range from 60 to 80 percent off – with some discounts going even deeper.

Speaking of Yellow Jacket, if you haven’t stopped in recently, this is the time to snag some great deals. We have racks and racks of button downs, polos, quarter zips, and more.

At our three stores, the sale starts on Thursday, August 10, and runs through Sunday. We also have extended our weekend hours. On Friday and Saturday, we will be open from 9am to 6pm; our Sunday hours will be 11am to 6pm. So, lots of time to take advantage of the incredible markdowns. Of course, you can shop the deals online too.
