Monday Musings
Happy Birthday George Washington! It’s days like today that make us fall in love with our town all over again. It’s not just a day off work, or a day to shop (although the jackets on sale at The Hive are calling my name), it’s about community and tradition. The way this town honors history, while also innovating and embracing new ideas inspires us. Here at Stylebook, we strive to give you content that is more than. It’s more than the trends that come and go (although we’ll make sure you’re in the know). It’s about discovering, or re-discovering, your truth to live your best life. Let us know what truths you’d like us to talk about. We love hearing from you! In the meantime, here are our latest discoveries…
Britt: Recently, Phyllis and I were going through a potential listing before the owners fully cleaned it out and we found several remnants of the past...including an old phone and a Safeway newspaper ad from 1959. We love finding little treasures from the past like these that remind us of how much has changed!
Elizabeth: I feel like this spring we are getting so many styles that are kind of a blast from the past. Stay tuned for a post this week about my favorite AGL slip-on sneakers returning, and we also just received our first shipment of the Gigi sandal that was just relaunched by Sam Edelman. I think we sold hundreds of these shoes in every color you can imagine. It is just the perfect sandal that works with everything, and you can’t beat the price.
Amy: The springlike days that have graciously snuck in this winter are getting us excited for outdoor adventures. Grab a book to help you plan your next excursion and a Waterproof Picnic Blanket so you're ready to set up shop wherever you are. Or light a National Parks Candle and do a puzzle while you wait for spring to officially arrive!
Adrien: Over the course of my travels, after speeches, in meetings, on trains, at lunches and dinners, and in my courses, I found one common thread. Our food and exercise choices continue to “consume” us. The message that our choices in our 20s and 30s are going to somehow behoove us magically isn’t something only members of our Alexandria Wellness community share. It is truly universal. But it isn't going to work for those of us in midlife. It’s actually going to HURT our wellness. If feeling better, or good, in your body is your ultimate goal and you want to ditch the “punishment-style” road to fitness and wellness of the past, reach out to me to see if our small group concierge program is for you or your team at work.
