DIY Alpaca Silk Accessory

This week, we are loving this quick and simple accessory project which requires zero experience with yarn or knitting. This beautiful necklace is made from I-cord, which is a tube of knitted fabric. But by using an I-cord maker, you can make this piece without any knitting needles at all. The project uses just one hank of Metalico yarn, a blend of Alpaca and Silk that has a natural shine and incredible softness. With a length of 348”, you can style the finished necklace in a variety of ways using loops and knots.

The materials are very simple, and you only need an afternoon to complete this.

Materials:

· One hank Blue Sky Fibers Metalico (be sure to have the yarn wound into a ball for you by our team)

· Tulip I-cord maker

· Copy of the free pattern from Blue Sky Fibers

The I-cord maker is easy to use, but if you need some help, local designer Olga Buraya-Kefelian has a helpful video on how to use it! It’s a fun project that children would enjoy as well.
