Although I have access to the best skincare on the market and have filled Bellacara with lines I believe are effective and top tier, I am always looking for new innovations in the field. I can often be found shopping at beauty counters in other cities hoping to stumble onto something amazing. As a general rule, I come up short. I buy things, try them and am unimpressed, or at least don’t find them to be any better than something I already have.Two years ago, when I stumbled upon the Zelens skincare line at Space NK I was intrigued, but not overly optimistic. I picked up a bottle of the Zelens Power A drops. As you’ve read here before, I have a love/hate relationship with retinol. So when I saw a serum-based retinol, I was intrigued. I had never seen that application before. The product contains time-released encapsulated retinol and two retinoids to refine, smooth skin texture, reduce the appearance of visible signs of aging, and help clear blemishes and skin imperfections. This was the first (and remains, to this day, the only) retinol that I can use on a nightly basis. It contains no synthetic colors, fragrances, or carrier oils. It is perfect for aging, acne-prone, and dull skin.I woke the morning after the first night I used it and felt my skin looked amazing. I was eager to see what another night would do. The second morning, small blemishes began to dry up and heal. The third morning I noticed a more even skin tone, and with continued use I had the best skin for a straight three months that I could recall. Then I ran out of the bottle. I was overusing, it to be sure. It really should have lasted another couple of months, but I started using it on my decollete as well. I started looking into finding the distributor, but time zone difference issues made calls difficult and simple emails yielded no results.After a week and a half, I felt like my face started to look not so good. I was desperate. I went back to Space NK and shelled out another $195 for the bottle. In the meantime, I located the distributor and had them send me a bunch of products to try.The next product I couldn’t live without was the Triple Action Eye Cream. Then the z-22 oil...and so on. If you stop by the store, I’ll be happy to tell you about each product in depth and why they are so amazing. I agonized about the huge expense to bring the line on and just couldn’t bear the cost. Fast forward to last month, a new distributor and a determination to bring the line on and here we are. I don’t have everything, not by a long shot. But slowly I will add product by product until I have the entire line. Until then, I brought on the items I tried that I found to be game changers. Products that no one else offers. I have been using the products since they arrived this past Friday and I have already received compliments on my skin.My new favorite, must-have, no matter what is the Power D drops. Perfect for all types of skin, but especially anyone with compromised, irritated, eczema, psoriasis, dry, or dehydrated skin. This fortifying serum is protective and acts as a barrier to help soothe the skin.
