If you’re looking at your calendar and realizing the contractor you’ve scheduled for your renovation will be arriving sooner than you thought and you haven't done a thing, fear not! Here are the simple steps you can take to prepare:

  1. Gather your supplies - moving boxes, paper, bubble wrap, tape, and markers.

  2. Pull all of your items out, categorize, and edit everything you do not want to move back into the newly renovated space.

  3. Pack your boxes by putting like items together and label everything.

  4. Move the boxes to a temporary place and get excited for the demo to begin!

If you’re moving, follow the same steps as above apply, but my two biggest pieces of advice to prepare for a move:

  1. Take the time to edit every single space before your move. Do not pay to move anything you are simply going to toss or donate the minute you unpack that box.

  2. Make sure boxes are labeled for their new room at your new home, not where they are coming from.

Or maybe all you have on your schedule is a routine spring clean. It's such a great feeling to do an edit in your home, and now is the perfect time to tackle it. Whether you're cleaning out the garage or the game room, all the same rules apply! Start by categorizing, and then donate the items that have more to give, or toss whatever is broken or you no longer need. You'll feel lighter, the space will look better, and you'll be able to have what you need at your fingertips!
