Next up is One, Ton, or None. What better person to explain it to us than Alicia McCaslin. This is a color theory, and well, Alicia knows color. The reason she can mix color so well is she gets how to balance it. So there is balance in proportions, but there is also balance in color.

I was working the Sid Mashburn event when Alicia walked by, and I popped my head out of the door to tell her how great she looked. She exclaimed, "I forget what I am even supposed to be showing."

This made me laugh because as I looked through her photos and without knowing it, she did One, Ton, or None. This theory is about finding a balance or where the eye can rest. This is knowing that when you use one pop of color, you give the eye a place to rest. When you use two, it can distract. Then the odd twist is that when you use a flood of colors, it creates equilibrium. Then there is my favorite none, where having no color creates a story or a balance. I often rely on one or none. Alicia did it without even thinking.

When getting dressed, it is a really easy way to make sure what you have on "works." See if your eye can settle or not settle, which is kind of the same thing.
