Product Spotlight: Maya Chia

Hello, my Bellacara Beauties! I miss you all! I am working remotely for a while but will be back soon! In the meantime, I wanted to tell you all about my favorite line at Bellacara: Maya Chia.

The basis for all Maya Chia products is the all-powerful and nutrient-dense chia seed. Maya Chia uses a patented procedure to extract the oil. This process is called the supercritical extraction. There are no chemical remnants or impurities, which means you get the purest and most stable chia oil on the market, with a shelf life of up to 18 months (this shelf life is almost unheard of in the organic skincare world!) Maya Chia also gives back to the people of Central America as a corporate sponsor of Adopt-a-Village, Guatemala.

Now that you have some background on the brand, let’s delve into my favorite products:

The Refresh Mint is a resurfacing and moisture-infusing mask. It works gently but effectively to exfoliate the skin to reveal a glowing and nourished complexion. It works great before the next product I am going to talk about.

The Super Blend Pressed Serum is my favorite product in the entire store. Every single time I use this, I wake up with glowing, clarified, baby soft skin. This powerhouse balm includes astaxanthin, an antioxidant that is 65 times stronger than vitamin C, coenzyme Q10, and, of course, the supercritical chia. Warm it up in the palm of your hand and press into the skin using upward pressure.

The Highlight of the Day is the highlight of any day. It is a pearlized mineral sheen that incorporates the powerful supercritical chia. It gives skin an airbrushed effect and leaves a beautiful glow. It works wonderfully as a base for my Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick and as a finishing touch on the tops of my cheekbones. I also apply it to my decolletage for extra illumination.

And last, but certainly not least, The Optimist. This face mist provides a weightless but powerful boost of hydration that plumps and moisturizes in a pinch. It has various uses, after cleansing, as an essence, or when you need an added dose of hydration after your setting powder. It imparts a healthy glow without breaking up your makeup. I also carry it with me when I fly (at 3.4 ounces, it is TSA approved) since the plane cabin is notoriously void of moisture.

Along with the four products I mentioned, they also have a cleansing oil, a lifting vitamin C serum, and an all-natural retinol which fights the signs of aging like none other.

Until we meet again, lovelies, I will be speaking to you from the articles of Stylebook.
