Introducing P.S. The Hive, A Local Outlet Store on Cameron Street

Some of you might recognize the model in this photo, she works the floor at both The Hive and P.S. The Hive, and used to come to work at The Shoe Hive on South Royal Street strapped to me in the Baby Bjorn. It’s my baby girl, Blair! She was literally raised in retail and is now working in it.

I am late in writing in Alexandria Stylebook about our outlet, P.S. The Hive. I would love to say it’s a new idea, but many of you might remember Treat, a store that was in Old Town I guess about a decade ago. The concept was basically to make a local outlet store for independent boutiques. Think Nordstrom Rack, but for all the little guys out there. That is basically what we are doing at P.S. The Hive. So yes, we have items from The Hive and The Shoe Hive. But that isn’t all we have; we have items from other independent stores around the region.

We had this great space and knew there were other stores like our own that needed a way to sell their last-season merchandise. That is pretty much how the idea of the Alexandria Warehouse Sale started, too. We knew we were better off discounting out items ourselves than sending them off to a liquidator who’d pay us pennies and take our stuff far away from our clients.

We have set the store up by size so it’s easy to shop. We also have shoes and some other items as well. Most items are anywhere from 50 to 80 percent off the original price. It’s all the great brands you know and love from The Hive and then some new brands as well.

P.S. The Hive is located at 301 Cameron Street and open Wednesday to Saturday 10am to 6pm, and Sunday 12pm to 5pm.

I asked Madeline to put together some looks with my Blair Bear as the model. I will admit, I was even shocked at how great all the looks were! You can walk out with an entire outfit at a great price:

We’re working on bringing in more merchandise as well, so make sure you check it out and we will start posting more on our social media.
