Santa's Last Stop Until Christmas

For the past few years, I’ve decorated my home with as many Christmas lights and decorations that I could find. I’ve invited neighbors and friends to come over and watch our dancing-lights display and I’ve loved seeing the joy it’s brought the neighborhood kids before Santa's big day. This year, we’ve decided to scale back our decor to simple lights and festive wreaths as we celebrate Georgie’s first Christmas with us, but I am still a lover of light displays! So, with that being said, here’s a light display you won’t want to miss.

At 6634 South Kings Highway, you’ll be amazed at this Christmas wonderland! Nancy and George Barbari started decorating 35 years ago. It all started after a trip to the mall, when they overheard someone who couldn’t pay for their child to sit and take pictures with Santa. After this, George started playing Santa Claus, giving out candy canes to children who came to admire their home’s display of lights. Little by little, the Barbari’s added more and more decorations each year until they stumbled upon a train that kids could ride. They added the train to their decorations and displayed it as “Santa’s Express.” Quickly, it became a community affair for over three decades. Their yard is open to the public for free train rides and photos with Santa! It’s a winter wonderland that their family puts together each year, with joy, to give back to the community and see everyone light up when they visit!

Their daughter, Christina, is the owner of Old Town JuiceBox. From December 22-24 from 6-10pm, she will be outside the home serving up a menu of coffee, tea, hot cider, hot chocolate, and oat milk horchata from her trailer! Whether you plan on a drive-by or to stop and visit with Santa over a hot chocolate, you’re sure to get in the holiday spirit with this light display – Santa’s last stop until Christmas!
