School Supply Drive At Penny Post

I think it goes without saying that students and teachers could use as much support as possible as we gear up for another uneasy school year. The last thing anyone should be worrying about is whether or not they have the supplies needed to make it through the year. If you’re looking for a way to help, The Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) School Supply Drive has begun!

Through August 19, Penny Post and Red Barn Mercantile will have collection bins set up at the front of each store. Both shops are offering 10% off* purchases made at the time of drop-off. (*Custom and special orders are not eligible.) Everything collected will go straight to Cora Kelly Elementary School.

In addition to school supplies, Penny Post is also collecting notes of encouragement to pass on to students and teachers as they begin their school year. A sweet and easy way to spread a bit of cheer. We'll have a station set up at Penny Post (starting Monday, August 9) with all the supplies needed to create as many colorful notes as you can whip up. We have no doubt our Penny Post people will deliver in the love note department.

A list of supplies needed can be found on our website

Thank you in advance for whatever you’re able to donate to help ACPS start their school year off right. The School Supply Drive ends Thursday, August 19, so be sure to bring your donations in before then!
