8 Ulla Johnson Pieces Every Closet Needs

When you enter the Ulla Johnson showroom it’s like you are stepping into a spread in Architectural Digest or maybe Veranda. It is the most beautiful room I have even been to, it even smells good.

It also represents the brand perfectly. To me when you think of the brand you think of beautiful dresses that are feminine but not too frilly. They are special without being ridiculous. They have ruffles and puff sleeves but don’t seem too precious or bohemian. Oftentimes dresses can seem too young; you know the pieces that are described as fun and flirty? I am not trying to say I am not fun, but I do need some tailoring and thick fabric. I think this is why Ulla works well for me and so many other people: the structure and thoughtfulness of her pieces. She knows how to cut a dress so it’s flattering. The zippers, pockets and pleats are always in the right places.

I also love her blouses. I think that is probably the number one piece we sell from Ulla. They are special and the perfect pairing to any bottom.

Ulla Johnson makes getting dressed easy. This week we are hosting our second annual Ulla Johnson Trunk Show. It is earlier than we usually start our trunk show series for fall, but we wanted to make sure we had a great selection and being early ensured a robust inventory. We decided to do a piece featuring some of the pieces and styles that Ulla Johnson is known to do so well. Floral tops, sets and dresses. I was reading a Vogue article about Ulla Johnson and they said that people are known to say they need to “get an Ulla” – so come get yours!

Stop in for a cocktail Thursday night (Aug 22) from 4 to 7 pm at The Hive to shop the selection first or stop by all weekend and help us kick off fall early!
