I wish I could remember the first year we participated in Tax Free Weekend. I want to say it’s at least the 5th year for us this time. Let’s face it: nobody likes paying taxes. When I was growing up people would head to the beach in Delaware in the summer and hit up the outlets for back-to-school shopping. There were great deals and they didn’t have to pay sales tax.

Well, I feel Alexandria is the Delaware shore this weekend. There are so many great deals with summer sale markdowns, and this weekend more than 30 stores are picking up the tab on the sales tax.

At The Hive and The Shoe Hive we have some of the deepest markdowns of the year. Since The Shoe Hive is merging into the Hive in a week, we have already slashed prices this summer. So it’s a great time to shop sale, but it’s also a great time to shop our newest arrivals. And it’s the last weekend of Courtyard Clearance. I guess this is really the last one ever!

This week we have marked items down to $200, $250 and $300. I know it might not seem like big savings at those prices but the savings are more than 50 and 60 percent! We have Ulla Johnson pumps that were normally $620 marked town to $250. There is an amazing Anine Bing dress marked down from $500 to $200. The savings are huge.

We have been unpacking so many boxes for fall. I mean tons and tons of boxes. We have fall from Tibi, Ulla Johnson, Veronica Beard and AGL. We basically have some fall from all of our brands.

Think about it: it’s a 6 percent savings on all your purchases – sale or new arrivals. If you’ve been eyeing that new skirt from Ulla Johnson or maybe that cashmere sweater from Allude you can save 6 percent.
