Last year The Hive hosted our first ever Ulla Johnson Trunk Show. It was our 20th year in business and we wanted to highlight our most important brands. It was a great event but I realized something: we hosted it too late in the fall. Not to bore everyone with how shipping works, but when you place an order you get a window of when the items will arrive. Some lines ship each month, but some give you a 60 to 90 day window. That tends to be how Ulla Johnson works and they tend to ship at the start of the window — which is great, but that means we usually have all of the line’s fall merchandise in the summer. If we wait until September or October to have an event, all their back stock inventory is already gone. That is good news for Ulla, but not so great for a trunk show.

We usually don’t do events in August since most folks are out of town, but we decided to give it a try with Ulla Johnson. Starting Thursday, August 22 we are kicking off the Ulla Johnson event with some summertime cocktails from 4pm to 7pm. We are going to be serving everyone’s favorite summertime cocktail, an Aperol Spritz. It seemed like a fitting drink for the end of summer and for Ulla.

The Ulla team really went all out for this event as well. My rep, Halima, has been holding pieces as they hit the warehouse and she is sending us more than 100 pieces for the event. I will admit, some styles didn’t have a ton of inventory but we decided to take what we could get. There was a sweater and skirt set that only had a couple left, but it was too beautiful to pass up. With our inventory and the special items for the event we literally have hundreds of items. We hope you will stop by Thursday through Sunday for our first event of the season.
