The One And Only EMYO

Save the date! The one and only EMYO is coming to Ivy Lane Living this Saturday, August 14, for a pop-up featuring her artwork! EMYO (Emily Ozier) is an internationally acclaimed artist whose work is wildly popular in the South. She only works with a handful of galleries each year; we are lucky enough to be one of them!

We invite you (bring a friend!) to come to our courtyard (309c Cameron Street) from 10am- 2pm where you will have a chance to meet Emily and purchase her artwork. Can’t make it? If you are interested in her artwork, please email or call and we’ll share her collection prior to her arrival.

A little about the artist: Emily and her husband live in Tennessee with their six children. She says her life resembles an impressionist painting - loose, lively, and full of color. Emily finds the time to paint in the early morning, where it provides the quiet and calm studio moments she loves to create in. She states, “I find that working creatively provides the grounding and stillness that I need before the hustle and bustle of busy family life begins as the children awake.”

She studied in Italy under an impressionist master, focusing on a method passed down from the impressionist painter John Singer Sargent. Emily is the daughter of a Cuban-American; her work is perhaps drawn from those expressive roots. Emily’s Cuban grandfather painted on small canvas. His simple, colorful art was in tribute to the Cuba he lost as a refugee and in contrast to his life as a doctor in the United States. Her mother remembers discovering her talent at age three when she designed and painted a family of bumblebees and created a 3D house for them. Emily states that drawing was a fundamental part of her childhood, laying the foundation to later evolve into an Impressionist Painter. Her work can be found in public and private collections and has been collected in London as well.

We can’t wait to meet Emily - See you this Saturday!
