The Origins Of Your Fibres Matter - Knitting For Olive Yarns

When looking for new yarns for fall at fibre space, we came across the brand Knitting for Olive in Denmark. We instantly fell in love with their luxurious yarns and impeccable color palette, as well as their designs. They are simple but stunning and will be wonderful lifelong additions to your wardrobe. This mother-daughter team of Copenhagen, Denmark, first started designing knitwear patterns for babies and toddlers and then added adult-sized patterns. In their effort to improve the knitting experience, they created Knitting for Olive yarns.

The source of our yarns is important to us, so we love the commitment of this company to sourcing natural fibers with respect for both the animals and our environment. Their Merino yarns are sourced in Patagonia and are mulesing-free. The wool can be traced directly back to the farm it comes from. The yarn is then produced in Italy. The spinning mill follows ethical, technical, and environmental standards, creating yarns free from harmful chemicals.

The Mohair comes from Angora goats bred in South Africa, and the yarn is also produced locally in Denmark. The yarns are traceable back to the individual farms. The Mohair is certified sustainable and RMS (Responsible Mohair Standard). The yarn is produced with high respect for animal wellbeing and with social responsibility. Their spinning mill follows ethical, technical, and environmental standards, creating yarns free from harmful chemicals. The Silk in their Soft Silk Mohair yarn is cruelty-free. The silk fibers are collected from cocoons after the chrysalises are allowed to mature into moths and escape. This means that the silkworms are not killed in the process as they are in conventional silk production.

We are really excited to have this yarn here in Alexandria, all the way from Denmark. Stop in and squeeze it in person!
