This Week’s COVID Essentials

I don’t know about you, but there are just a lot of humans in my house…all the time now. They are on every sofa, in every room, and so is their stuff. I have started taking refuge in my bedroom and bathroom because at least there I can be alone. It’s not that I want to be alone all the time, but I have enjoyed a lot of togetherness in the last few months. Some alone time is essential. These are the things I’m loving right now.

Hollywood Browzer

Some of you may recall that I love a good dermaplaning facial to get the fuzz off my face. I used to use the Hollywood Browzer between facials to get the few hairs that would pop up in between. Now that I can’t get that facial, I am reaching for this dang thing almost every few days. I swear there are always chin hairs driving me crazy. This must be age because I don’t remember this being a problem before.

Revitalash

Since wearing masks in public is essential, I need the only part of my face visible to pop. That’s my eyes. I love my Westman Atelier mascara, but it’s only as good as what I give it to work with, so I have to up my lash game. Revitalash keeps my lashes long and full.

Supergoop Glow Screen

I love this sunscreen under makeup or worn alone for a great pick me up. It gives just the right amount of luminosity to the skin, and the SPF 40 doesn’t feel heavy.

Dr. Gross and Cane and Austin Peel Pads

These have been a lifesaver. I’ve found I need to exfoliate more lately. My pores have been clogging on my chin as a result of wearing the masks. These gently exfoliate daily so I can keep my skin from breaking out.

Candles, Candles, Candles

These just pick me up and make my spaces so much nicer. I’ve burned a gazillion, but this week I have the following scents going. SOH Verdant in my living room, Cire Trudon Ernesto in my family room, and Urban Apothecary Oriental Noir in my bedroom.

Musee Bath Salts

I haven’t historically been a bath person, but right now, a calming soak is lovely. These bath salts scent the water and make it super silky. They also allow me to use my jets, unlike bubble bath. I made that mistake a couple of times, and the last time I used the jets, they shot out all kinds of scary looking junk…dried up bubble bath, I guess. So, now it’s bath salts when I want jets!
