How To Throw The Perfect Summer Party

A little party never hurt nobody! Summer is the perfect time to get together with loved ones and enjoy a little outdoor recreation and relaxation. August is a great month to enjoy good food and drinks with the best company. Whether you’re planning a Gatsby-level gathering or backyard bbq, here’s a list of our celebration essentials:

Spirits

Outdoor, open bars are a fun way to add bubbly to any bash. We’re always looking for new ways to serve up classic cocktails. An Old Fashioned or Dark ‘N Stormy serve-yourself-bar can add a fun theme to any picnic. We absolutely fell in love with the idea of a prosecco truck. You heard that right: Prosecco. Truck. This will immediately be the hit at any soiree. Beyond the fact that it’s convenient, every inch of this vintage cart is Instagram worthy. We loved Dr. Feelgood Goods & Services

Time-Savers

No host wants to be running around all day in the hot sun. With little pre-party hacks, you can save time and sanity on the day of your big bash. Examples? Put sunscreen and bug spray in a festive bin for guests to quickly grab-and-go. Avoid a melting mess by pre-scooping ice cream and keeping it in the freezer until it’s time for the sweet treat. Put all veggies and meat on a skewer to cook multiple dinners, six to eight at a time. Tie a bottle opener to the drink cooler or ice bucket. This will be easy access for guests and will ensure it stays in one place!

Scores

Let the games begin! There are so many timeless summer backyard activities, it’s hard to pick one favorite. Cornhole, bocce, ladder toss… the possibilities are endless. The best part is that they don’t have to be fancy to have a little fun. Kids and adults will both be entertained by a little friendly competition, or  the adults can kick back while the younger crowd plays non-competition games like blowing bubbles, bouncing beach balls and water tables like this one from Busy Toddler.

Open House

Come to our 8107 Yorktown Drive open house/ backyard bash this Sunday (8/4)! We’ll be hosting this open house from 2-4pm. Come for the custard truck, lawn games and house tour! This is a brand-new build by a local builder in the sought-after Hollin Hall neighborhood. It’s complete with 5 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a main level open floor plan and finished basement!
