September 22 was officially the first day of fall, but let’s face it, it is never really fall on that day, at least here in the mid-Atlantic. Then you think Halloween kind of marks the start to truly cooler days, but many times my kids are in short sleeves as they start trick-or-treating.

To me, the time when it really seems to feel like fall is when daylight savings time ends. It’s when the days get really short and by 8pm I am ready for bed.

So this weekend it is here, it's time to “fall back” on Saturday night and the days will start to get really short.

We decided to kick off the cooler days and longer nights with four days of a coat sale. Starting tomorrow, Thursday, November 1, we are marking all of our coats down by 20 percent.
