What I’d Send the Ladies of Stylebook this Valentine’s Day (husbands and lovers take note!)

The little black book. That’s what we call the running list of client preferences we’ve kept over the last ten plus years of business. Within it are preferences on colors, flower varieties, vases – you name it. And, you can probably guess, a good number of our Stylebook members exist in its midst. We thought it would be fun, in honor of the upcoming Valentine’s holiday, to lay out what some of our favorite boutique and business owners around town would love to receive.

Kristin Try, Kristin Try Interiors

Any time I get to design for Kristin I’m always grabbing for the jewel tones, and it makes sense because so many of her home designs call for jewel-toned blooms. A good design for Kristin involves pretty pinks and mauves, and a more casual and relaxed style. From this year’s collection, I’d definitely be sending her something along the lines of our Lady Love arrangement.

Britt Patterson, The Patterson Group

Britt has classic taste and is a lover of all the good stuff – peonies, garden rose, sweet pea, etc. While she’s normally a neutral only type of gal, I’d pick either the blushing tulips or the sweetest pea for Valentine’s Day. We think the mono-botanical style perfectly captures her polished style. (Geoff, we hope you’re taking notes).

Katelin Moomau, Family First Law

Katelin’s email address is “Katehasfun,” so any time I design for her I’m channeling fun.  Katelin is a regular of ours and loves happy, seasonal flowers. She has impeccable taste, but also doesn’t take herself too seriously. I’d lean into playful melon tones, and flowers that show a bit of whimsy like butterfly ranunculus and sweet pea.

Danielle, fibre space

Would you be at all surprised if I told you this crafty lady is a regular in our floral workshops? For Valentine’s Day, I’d skip a finished arrangement and instead gift her a spot in an upcoming class. Danielle is quite the budding designer, and even has her own pair of floral clippers for class.

Amy, Red Barn Mercantile

If you guessed coastal whites and blues, you’d have guessed correct. Amy is reliably a lover of whites and blues, whether ordering for herself or sending flowers around town.   To keep things fresh and fun I love to switch it up with cool ceramic vases with a nod to her Red Barn Style.

Elizabeth, The Shoe Hive + The Hive

Elizabeth has classic, feminine taste and is usually a neutral lover, with a pop of pastel color. For this holiday, I’d go for a beautiful mixed arrangement of whites with touches of blush in a textured white ceramic vessel.

Ali, ALH Style

Ali is my wildcard client. Truly, I think Ali is one of those “variety is the spice of life” kind of people, and has been equally thrilled with a chic neutral arrangement as she has been the time I delivered an arrangement IN a loaf of sourdough bread. I always love designing for her for this reason – her taste in flowers is equally as fun and exciting as her taste in fashion. So, for Ali, something custom and couture.

Rainbow, Alexandria Stylebook

Rainbow isn’t shy of color and is known to rock a red lip so I’m definitely leaning into color for her, with a few edgier ingredients. I’d plan to use funky blooms like protea and anemone and contrast it with softer roses and ranunculus.
