Have you ever started using a product and thought… “Am I crazy, or do I look better, younger, rested?” Every once in a while I run out of a product and so I grab some samples of something I haven’t used before. Sure I try everything, but sometimes that means I don’t get to use it long enough to really give it a good inspection. Generally, we break the testing of products up among the staff. That way at least one person has used a product for a couple weeks and can report back.
Lexi was tasked with giving Rilastil’s Re-Sleep Serum and Balm the test run. She reported back that she loved it. She said it definitely made her look like she had a solid eight hours even when she hadn’t. Great, I thought. However, I wasn’t sure that was enough for me to toss something in my regimen aside to replace it with Re-Sleep.
A couple weeks ago, I ran out of my nighttime serum so I grabbed a few samples and headed home. I used the samples for the next couple of days underneath the Re-Sleep Balm (which I had a bottle of) and every morning I felt I looked good. My skin was even toned. I mean, the kind of even toned where you consider going out without concealer and foundation. But there was something I else couldn’t put my finger on.
Yesterday, we went out to dinner to celebrate my sons’ birthdays and photos were taken. When I looked at the photos, I realized what the difference was. My marionette lines had lessened. They were plumper and as such I looked a bit younger and definitely more refreshed.
I immediately set out to learn why. It seems that the active ingredient is a proprietary one called “Chronogen,” an anti-aging peptide and has been shown to plump expression lines by 33 percent! Combined with the Re-Sleep Balm, I feel years younger. Now, if it would only lift my eyelids…then I’d really be in business! Come by and tell me if I’m crazy or not.
I have been a beauty junkie for what seems like forever, but before I did anything about it, I went to law school. (Yes, my life is a little like the reverse of Legally Blonde.) Then, I worked as a prosecutor in Sonoma County after which I moved to the DC area with my husband in ’97. I served as Majority Counsel to the Senate Banking Committee followed by a year-long stint at a lobbying firm. You get the picture.
It was then that I decided to act on my dream of becoming an entrepreneur. Finding my favorite beauty products proved to be impossible without stepping foot in a mall–the horror. So, I decided to bring my favorites to Alexandria. A few trips to New York and a flight to France and Bellacara was born in March 2000.
