The first Christmas card was sent in 1843 by Sir Henry Cole, who, three years earlier, started the first Penny Post in the U.K. Ever since then, sending your best wishes for the holidays has been a tradition. Now, I know it’s going to be in the mid-70s outside this afternoon and Halloween hasn’t even hit us yet, but if you are a planner like I dare to dream I am, then it’s time to start thinking about your holiday cards.
When we started our own Penny Post we knew we wanted to offer custom paper products – things like personal stationery, wedding invitations, and, yes, holiday cards. We are proud to bring the age-old tradition of correspondence back to Old Town. We are carrying some of the finest makers around. From Crane’s signature watermark to Bella Figura’s calligraphy and Haute Papier’s letterpress, you will find the perfect sentiment this season.
This weekend we will be having our Grand Opening at Penny Post. To help you get started on the right festive foot, we will be offering 20 percent off all custom holiday orders. We recommend coming in early to scope out what you like before placing your order. We all will be on deck to help you pick the perfect card, but if you’d like to make an appointment (and we suggest that you make one), then email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here is just a taste of what you will find from our makers this holiday season…
Red Barn Mercantile opened its doors in September 2007 with a single vision in mind: providing old and new to offer our customers signature whole-room designs at great prices.
We’re more than a furniture boutique and provide more personalized service than a big box retailer. We work hard to bring you the highest quality furniture and gifts, the most unique conversation starters, wall hangings and accent pieces, whether they come from off-the-beaten-track flea markets, or the latest designers.
