Dr. Lily Talakoub at Bellacara this Friday

As many of you read in my earlier article, Dr. Lily Talakoub will be popping up at Bellacara this Friday for consultations and injections. I myself had her administer Botox several weeks ago. Though I was nervous, I had complete faith in her as several people I know are her clients. However, I wrote the last article immediately following my visit and so I had no real information to report on the effects of my procedure.

Now that a few weeks have passed, I have to say that I am very pleased with the results. The lines on my forehead have pretty much disappeared. I am still able to raise my eyebrows and make meaningful expressions.  The Botox has simply softened my appearance. I definitely think that asking for less is the best course of action for those of you who are considering it for the first time.

My plan is to keep up with it just enough to maintain these results, so I’ll be asking her on Friday how often she thinks that will be. I think Dr. Lily will be an integral part of my plan to age gracefully: good skincare and a little help from Dr. Lily.

I hope to see many of you this Friday; it will be a fun afternoon. You’ll definitely leave more knowledgeable…and you may leave looking a bit more refreshed!

We have very few remaining openings. Please email info@bellacara.com to schedule your slot.

I have been a beauty junkie for what seems like forever, but before I did anything about it, I went to law school. (Yes, my life is a little like the reverse of Legally Blonde.) Then, I worked as a prosecutor in Sonoma County after which I moved to the DC area with my husband in ’97. I served as Majority Counsel to the Senate Banking Committee followed by a year-long stint at a lobbying firm. You get the picture. It was then that I decided to act on my dream of becoming an entrepreneur. Finding my favorite beauty products proved to be impossible without stepping foot in a mall–the horror. So, I decided to bring my favorites to Alexandria. A few trips to New York and a flight to France and Bellacara was born in March 2000.

Located in historic Old Town Alexandria, for more than 17 years Bellacara has been Northern Virginia's preeminent boutique for high end cosmetic, skincare and haircare products. At Bellacara you will find premiere beauty products that have been carefully edited by the store’s owner, Angela Sitilides, who personally tests all the products sold in store. The boutique carries only the best product lines – Kiehl’s, Jouer, Dr. Dennis Gross, Christophe Robin, Moroccan Oil, Bumble & Bumble, Fresh, Molton Brown, Skinceuticals, Smashbox, Stila, Mario Badescu, Clarins, Dermalogica, Kevyn Aucoin, Kai, Child, St. Tropez, Smith and Cult, and many more.

    Thanks for any info

We have had an overwhelming response to this event so it is certainly possible. We’ll keep you updated!

You look great! Botox is a lifesaver when used judiciously and by someone who knows what they are doing!

  3. CJ says:

I appreciate the update, but those two pictures aren’t the same. In the first, you are clearly scrunching up your forehead (raising your eyebrows), but not in the second. This is pretty misleading, and I’m sure you don’t intend it to be so, but it’s not really an accurate comparison. It would have been more helpful to see the first picture with your forehead relaxed to see the reality of any fine lines you may have.

Agreed. They sent the one right after and at the time I couldn’t lift my brows. So actually they are the same, but your point is well taken!
