2016 was tough. In a time where many people seem to be searching for the reset button, we’ve been thinking a lot about how fashion can be a catalyst to change. Clothes can not only lift your mood, they can empower you to succeed or give you the confidence to try something new. Our goal at TSALT is to help each woman spice up her own personal style, whether it means elevating the basics you wear to your favorite gym class, or finding a look that will make you feel powerful in the office. We’ve pulled together some inspiration for your workout that will help you feel refreshed and balanced as you move into the New Year.
Activewear goes beyond outfitting women for the gym. As Tory Burch said, “It’s about encouraging women to embrace ambition in all aspects of their lives.” At the center of our favorite workout looks of the season are Ultracor leggings. The company has been using advanced fabrics to help women look their best as they exercise or travel to and from the gym. The leggings are extremely lightweight, and yet still supportive. One of our favorite features, unlike many “legging” lines — they are lined with BLACK, so when you bend over or have curves you don’t get that terrible faded/stretched look.
We know you’re busy. Thankfully, Vogue has coined the term “athluxury” to refer to elevated sporty looks. We think the perfect way to achieve this look is to mix utilitarian pieces with more structured staples. WhoWhatWear tackled the famous “Can leggings be worn as pants?” question and came to the conclusion that they can…with some stipulations. While Ultracor leggings look chic in their own right with any top for barre class, they take on a more sophisticated look when worn under a crisp button down shirt. Complete the look with class Stan Smiths or some menswear-inspired loafers and you’re ready for brunch. Another way to spice up your leggings to play with texture. Add in a leather jacket or some fur detailing for extra interest.
2017 is all about integrating healthy habits into your routine. Focusing on buying sporty pieces that can transition into your daily wardrobe will help you seamlessly jump from one activity to another. But beware: once you wear your leggings to work, you’re going to need a new excuse for skipping the gym!
