outdoor decorating tips

Liz: I am buying a house with a small courtyard/patio by the front door. Any outdoor decorating tips?

Gayla, Coco Blanca: Since your courtyard is by the front door, I would treat this area as sort of a foyer. It should be beautiful and set the tone for you home. I would fill it with evergreens (my favorite is boxwoods), so it stays green and pretty all year long Fill in where you can with different varieties of white hydrangeas giving the space nice textures in the summer time. There is nothing more elegantly beautiful than white and green.

Love the hydrangeas!

For furniture, I would turn to my favorite line Elegant Earth. This beautiful concrete round table with wrought iron or teak chairs will give the space a focal point all year long. On top of the table put a beautiful centerpiece that can withstand the winter weather so even without flowers it will be gorgeous.
