Penny Post + Alexandria’s Wedding Showcase 2019

Now that the calendar has flipped, it’s time to start planning your 2019 wedding. Planning a wedding is a daunting effort. The options seem infinite and the decisions seem insurmountable. Well fear no more, my friends. Alexandria is the region’s loveliest wedding destination with vendors aplenty ready, willing, and able to help you plan your special day.

Penny Post is excited to participate in the third annual Alexandria Wedding Showcase on February 17, from 11am-3pm at the Hilton Mark Center. From wedding venues to wedding dresses, more than 60 of Alexandria’s finest wedding vendors will be on hand to help you navigate your options and make those important decisions easier. There will be demonstrations, music, food tastings, a fashion show, and a dream wedding giveaway this year.

And, if that wasn’t enough, all proceeds benefit Brides Across America, a national nonprofit that provides gowns and wedding attire for military and first responders. Get your ducks in a row all while helping very special people make their wedding dreams come true. It’s a win for everyone.

Tickets are $20 for one person, $15 each for two or more tickets, and $25 at the door. But we are thrilled to giveaway 10 tickets to lucky Alexandria Stylebook readers. Simply email us at to claim your ticket. They are first come, first serve, so act fast!

If you can’t make the Alexandria Wedding Showcase but would like to talk to one of our knowledgeable wedding stationery specialists, then email to make an appointment today. Your wedding stationery is your first chance to express the theme and feel of your wedding, and our team is ready to help you find the perfect statement that reflects your personality and sets the tone for your very special day. Here are just a few examples of what we have to offer…

  • The latest from Amy
Owner Amy Rutherford started Red Barn because she wanted to deliver a service — to provide both old and new in one place. No longer will busy shoppers be limited to reproductions or forced to shop multiple flea markets for the look or gifts they want. The trick in blending old and new, vintage and modern, classic and quirky, is balance. And Amy’s knack for mixing rustic antiques with urban chic has created a look that is both fresh and familiar.

Red Barn Mercantile opened its doors in September 2007 with a single vision in mind: providing old and new to offer our customers signature whole-room designs at great prices.

We’re more than a furniture boutique and provide more personalized service than a big box retailer. We work hard to bring you the highest quality furniture and gifts, the most unique conversation starters, wall hangings and accent pieces, whether they come from off-the-beaten-track flea markets, or the latest designers.
