Red Barn Mercantile Introduces Two New Upholstery Lines (Bonus: They Are Budget Friendly)

When designing a room, we believe in investing in the big impact pieces like art, rugs, window treatments, and sofas. In particular, we believe in investing in the best sofa your budget will allow. That’s why we have carried Cisco Brothers for the last 11 years. The design and craftsmanship are top notch in our book. However, that doesn’t always fit in every budget or in every lifestyle.

In order to create balance – and you know, I’m all about balance! – we have started to carry two new lines that happen to be sister companies, Robin Bruce and Rowe upholstered furniture. These are budget-friendly lines that offer little customization, but a lot of style and even more fabric selections. They are perfect for the family room, the basement rec room, a second home, and mostly for chairs to complement any Cisco Brothers sofas.

Naturally, we can order anything from these two companies. However, for our opening order we decided to stick with chairs that would complement any Cisco sofa. We are pleased to announce that we have ordered seven sets of chairs in amazing fabrics that are ready for delivery whenever you like. Currently, a pair of the Beckett chairs in an indigo fabric are on the floor. The others are tucked away in storage awaiting their forever home. Check out the frames below and come into the store to see the fabrics.

  • Mally
  • Ingrid
  • Brooke
  • Juliet
  • Lyra
  • Kate
  • Beckett

There are many things that excite us about Robin Bruce and Rowe, but chief among them is that they are made in Elliston, Virginia. For us that means a smaller carbon footprint when it comes to shipping, a shorter lead time by about four weeks, and we are supporting another local, small business. We are also happy to report that, just like Cisco Brothers, these folks have a sustainable mission and have eliminated all use of flame retardants.

Visit the Robin Bruce and Rowe websites then come in and let us help you find the perfect piece for your project!

  • The latest from Amy
Owner Amy Rutherford started Red Barn because she wanted to deliver a service — to provide both old and new in one place. No longer will busy shoppers be limited to reproductions or forced to shop multiple flea markets for the look or gifts they want. The trick in blending old and new, vintage and modern, classic and quirky, is balance. And Amy’s knack for mixing rustic antiques with urban chic has created a look that is both fresh and familiar.

Red Barn Mercantile opened its doors in September 2007 with a single vision in mind: providing old and new to offer our customers signature whole-room designs at great prices.

We’re more than a furniture boutique and provide more personalized service than a big box retailer. We work hard to bring you the highest quality furniture and gifts, the most unique conversation starters, wall hangings and accent pieces, whether they come from off-the-beaten-track flea markets, or the latest designers.
