Our Favorite Redhead Shines in Black Halo

Sarah Marcella in Black Halo Jodee Sheath Dress

A few weeks ago, Sarah Marcella and I were working our way through the sunny streets of Old Town when we ran into someone very special. She’s the type of person you’ll see in your peripheral vision and immediately know it’s her. Maybe it’s the combination of her incredible red mane and sparkly smile, or her three little boys in tow? Or perhaps it could be her super-laid-back and down-to-earth personality that shines. I, for one, always notice her awesome style, which is packed with fun statement earrings and wow-me shoes! Okay, I’ve probably embarrassed her enough! You know who I’m talking about right? Hello! It’s Maura Burchette!

Maura is the owner of Monday’s Child, the beautiful children’s clothing boutique on Lee Street. Monday’s Child has been around nearly 40 years and Maura took over this past October. I’ve purchased everything from my flower girl’s dress to my daughter’s wardrobe at this shop. Monday’s Child is filled with clothing for infants through size 12 and it is the epitome of traditional children’s wear. Whether you’re looking for a special occasion, an everyday outfit, or a gift, you have to check out Monday’s Child. Maura’s always there working away!

Maura immediately came to mind when TSALT received a brand new shipment of dresses (and a very cool twist on a jumpsuit) from Black Halo. Not only do these spring arrivals read “May Sunshine,” they are perfect for petites. Maura is a whopping five feet, four inches tall, so when I originally asked her to model for us I knew we couldn’t put her anything that was too much or it would swallow her. Black Halo offers a very flattering and easy aesthetic: clean lines, light fabrics, and cheery colors. All you really need is a cute pair of shoes and a bag and you’re all set. Can’t get much better than that!

Everyone is loving Black Halo. TSALT just starting carrying this line and it has taken off. The silhouettes are mostly comprised of sheath dresses, some fit-and-flair dresses, and slightly A-line jumpsuits. This season we’ve seen a lot of pastels, florals, and even some hot reds and purples. Something for everyone, really! Take a look at the most recent looks from Black Halo on the beautiful Maura Burchette! You won’t be disappointed.
