Red [Lipstick], White, and Blue [Eyeliner]

Independence Day is upon us! However you celebrate, make sure your makeup is ready for the occasion.

The Firework-Watcher

You’re fun, you’re young, and you’re ready to celebrate Independence.

The Lip: Keep it bold and smooth with a glossy red, like Smashbox Be Legendary Liquid Lip in “Bad Apple.

The Eyeliner: We’re obviously going bright on this one, you little firecracker, you. Draw some attention to your patriotic peepers by using Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner in “Cobalt” all over the lid, flicking up the edges to form a bold wing. Skate a little Stila Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in “Diamond Dust” just underneath your lower lash line for sparkle to rival the fireworks in the sky behind you.

The Nails: Go glitter or go home with the gorgeous Butter London “Diamond Geezer.

The BBQ-Goer

You need your makeup to stay put through ribs, corn on the cob, a good beer or two, and great conversation all night long.

The Lip: Swipe the deliciously apple-red Lipstick Queen “Eden” over lips and then pat on an extra buffer layer of Smith’s Rosebud Salve to keep your lips looking as juicy as the watermelon on your plate.

The Eyeliner: Live a little! Smudge out a thick line of Smashbox Always On Gel Liner in “Bouncer” on your top lid and leave your lower lash line bare.

The Nails: Rich red takes the cake for this look! Tip your tips with Deborah Lippmann “My Old Flame.

The I-Have-To-Work-But-Darn-It-I’m-Still-Festive…er

OK, so you need to be office appropriate. We can do that.

The Lip: Classic and clean for you, my office friend. Stick with the vintage vibe of Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in “Beso” for your sneakily festive look.

The Eyeliner: We don’t want to be too obvious, but we also don’t want to be too staid. Try Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner in “Midnight” to make your eyes bright before you head to the ‘works right after, well, work.

The Nails: Here’s where we’ll hope you can get away with some fun: try the rich royal blue (I know, a sacrilege for The Fourth!) from Smith & Cult, “Kings & Thieves.

Happy Independence Day, everyone!
