Product Review: Lord Jones Royal Oil

The response to our CBD line Lord Jones has been amazing. I love hearing stories about how the body lotion relieves aches and pains. Those of you with arthritis or carpal tunnel have found relief by using this product and I’m so happy it has helped. Many of you who get migraines have said that the tinctures mitigate the severity. Of course, the gummies and chews, the products most often purchased to ease anxiety, have been very popular, as well. So when I received our latest product, Royal Oil, which is the product with the greatest concentration of CBD the company sells, I was excited.Lord Jones decided to add the oil to their offerings as an all-encompassing product. There are only two ingredients: CBD and grapeseed oil. This means it can be used on the face as a face oil, on the body to treat pain, and taken orally under the tongue, like the tinctures, for any number of reasons from pain management to anxiety-relief to inflammation control. However, unlike the peppermint and lemon tinctures, there are no added flavors disguise the taste of CBD, which can be unpleasant in its solo form.I found the consistency too thick as a stand-alone face oil. I prefer mixing a drop into my moisturizer. I also had difficulty putting it directly under my tongue. The taste was definitely “plant-like.” I had decidedly better results mixing a few drops into my hummus. I was rather anxious that day, as I had a long list of “to-do’s” and a short amount of time in which to do them. I pulled the vial out as a test to see if I could taste it in my hummus -- I could not -- but was pleasantly surprised to find that my anxiety quelled and I was actually able to focus and be productive at chopping the list down to size. For comparison sake, a full dropper of the tincture supplies 10 mg of CBD. A full dropper of the Royal Oil supplies 40 mg of CBD. Bear this in mind if a dropper of the tincture is all you need. CBD affects everyone differently, which is why they suggest starting with low dosages and working your way up as needed. I generally have a very high tolerance as I’ve found a dropper or two of the tincture doesn’t do much for me. On the other hand, a dropper of the Royal Oil was all I needed. Keep your math and dosages in mind if you opt for the oil.If you’re looking for maximum results immediately, put a dropper of the oil under your tongue and hold it for a minute before swallowing. This will ensure it enters your bloodstream immediately and doesn’t have to work its way through your digestive system. Yes, it will taste strong, but if pain management or relaxation is what you’re after, you don’t want to wait two hours to digest it.
