Jenn: I purchased a pair of shoes last week, but the shoes have no traction. I’m slipping and sliding everywhere. What’s the best way to fix it quickly?
Elizabeth, The Shoe Hive: The problem with leather soled shoes is they are always slippery! The other irony is the nicer the shoe, the thinner the sole and the more they tend to be slick. The first thing you need to do is scuff the bottom. Often times I think I “need” a pair of shoes while I am working and I have to go out to the courtyard and scuff the bottom so I don’t slide all over the carpet. If you want something sturdier you can purchase a rubber grip that just sticks to the bottom front of the shoe and gives it more traction. Here is one we like from Old Town Luggage and Shoe repair that is $4.50.
