Small Batch Candles In A New Spring Scent Collection

Mother’s Day is coming, and the timing could not be better for the spring scent collection from Wax & Wool. You’ve heard me sing the praises of this boutique candle company before. It is a small, woman-owned, and operated candle studio located in the Puyallup Valley in Washington State.  Because she does small-batch candles, each scent collection that she releases doesn’t stick around long in our shop. As always, we have her amber jar candles, which are reusable and come with a black lid. Each candle is nine ounces of pure white soy wax (never dyes), feature cotton wicks, phthalate and paraffin free scents, and essential oils. If you follow her burning instructions, you should have 50 hours of burning time on just one candle! You can shop all of the candles here on our site, but stopping by to smell them in person is always the best way to choose. Here’s what you can find in her latest release:  Spring Clean:This scent is a spring necessity: bright, uplifting, and as lovely as clean counters and sunshine itself. It’s a blend of a variety of pleasing citrus oils with invigorating herbs like mint, basil, and eucalyptus for the perfect pick-me-up scent for spring.  Pacific Coast:This scent captures the wind-blown trees at the Sutro Baths, the sunshine glinting off the sandy beaches, and the earthy greenness of evergreen forests laced with moss and salty sea air. You will catch scents of lemon peel, cypress, redwood, cedar, sea salt, and jasmine.  Mr. Blue Sky“Sun is shinin’ in the sky, there ain’t a cloud in sight! It’s stopped rainin’ everybody’s in the play,And don’t you know, it’s a beautiful new day, hey hey!”Mr. Blue Sky is their tribute to what has been lauded as the happiest song ever. It smells like fresh spring breezes after a heavy rain shower. A catchy melody of sea salt and citrus plays over a soft base of oakmoss and the slightest hint of florals. Fresh, clean, and upbeat - this scent is perfectly balanced and sure to be a hit with everyone!   Sweet Grass and Sunshine:Sweetgrass and Sunshine is a cousin fragrance to Mr. Blue Sky. It shares the same upbeat characteristics of sea salt and citrus but has a dominant theme of fresh cut grass that conjures up lazy Saturdays and long afternoons in the sun. It’s the perfect companion scent to Mr. Blue Sky and is equally delightful on its own or as part of a team. We’ve awarded this fresh new scent the “plays-well-with-others” award of the season! Burning tips for these and all of your candles:For best results, let the candle burn at least two hours before extinguishing. This will allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges and result in a cleaner, more efficient burn. Trim your wick before to approximately ¼” before lighting your candle.

Danielle, owner of the fibre space shop, has been knitting since the age of six or so, when she completed her first project – a Cabbage Patch doll scarf. A Pittsburgh native with a degree in international development, she moved to the D.C. area to find a job and quickly established a career in non profit management and fundraising. For extra cash, she decided to turn her hobby into a job and taught knitting classes in the evening at area shops. With a heavy dose of sarcasm and a tough love style of teaching, Danielle quickly developed a following of students – busy D.C. professionals looking for a creative outlet. In October 2006, she struck out on her own with Knit-a-Gogo, Inc. – offering knitting classes and events all over the D.C. metro area.  Before she knew it, Knit-a-Gogo had grown out of control and Danielle moved to the next natural step – a full service yarn shop. In July 2009 fibre space was born and has been rockin’ ever since. When she isn’t behind the scenes with a mocha in hand, Danielle is hanging with her daughter or lobbying for small business needs at City Hall.
