This year we are thrilled to take a more prominent role in Alexandria’s Spring 2ACTion fundraising efforts. Today is the official day to participate all over Alexandria at local businesses. Kiskadee has teamed up with Running Brooke ~ Brooke Curran’s organization to benefit at risk Alexandria Children. When you come into Kiskadee today and make a purchase of full priced shoes and attire, 20% of the proceeds will go directly to Running Brooke. In addition, Neil and I will be matching funds up to $1,000. We are eager to help Brooke reach her goal of $100,000. So much so that we have extended our efforts beyond today – if you were to have come in anytime between Monday, April 20th through tomorrow by 7 PM, we will count your purchases toward our goal!
Last year Running Brooke donors generously gave over $86,000 in just one day! The practical objective for those funds was a revitalization effort of the Hume Springs Park in Alexandria. It will be re-opened in October of this year providing a safe place for children and families to play and learn thanks to those donations. We believe Running Brooke will reach their goal this year with your help as we look forward to seeing more examples of safe ‘play and learn’ environments spring up.
Why Fund Movement & Play?
We know that unstructured play for kids under 5 builds brains.
We know that kids who are active learn better.
We envision all children having access to safe outdoor spaces.
Our dream is that all 3rd graders are reading at grade level.
Our motto: Move to Learn!
